for the Creative Arts
The Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts at Austin Peay State University promotes a
variety of arts events on a continuing basis. The Center annually produces more than
100 events in art, music, theatre and creative writing, which feature faculty, student and
regionally and internationally acclaimed guest arts. Most events are offered free to
the public.
Musical programs include band, orchestra and choir concerts; faculty,
student and guest artist recitals; and performances by numerous student
performing ensembles, along with the APSU/Clarksville Community Concert
Artist Series. Special musical events include a holiday choral
concert in December, the annual Mid-South Jazz Festival in April and an
Opera Theatre production in the spring. Most productions are held
in the 600-seat Concert Theatre of the music/mass communication building.
